How Can I Move With The Children?

Q. 

I need to have my divorce decree amended so that I will be able to move out of state. Do I just need to have an attorney draw up the changes and then me and my x-husband take the document to the Attorney General's office? How does this work? This is in the state of Texas. Thanks.

Talk to your lawyer about a joint petition to modify the divorce decree. If you and Dad are cooperative and if you're not violating a court order by moving, it may be simpler to draft and get approved if you file already showing the new address.
