Trying to decide who is gong to represent you in your divorce or matrimonial law case is a major decision - one that will affect the outcome of your case dramatically.  Follow these steps to ensure that you are choosing an attorney that is right for you:

Make a List

Make a list of everything you are looking for in an attorney. Do you have a preference between a man and a woman?  Do you want to work with an attorney who charges hourly or a flat fee?  Will you be charged for calls to the law firm?  Do you prefer to work with someone who will try to settle your case or someone who will fight through trial? Explore these any other factors that will play a role in your decision-making.

Ask Friends and Family for References

Ask friends and family if they have worked with any attorneys they would recommend. Make a list of any lawyers you know or have worked with in the past.  Once you have a complete list, contact each Pasadena divorce attorney and ask if they have experience with divorce or matrimonial law. 

Contact Local Bar Association

If you still do not feel like you have a list of quality candidates, contact your local bar association and ask if they have a referral program. They will likely be able to refer you to a family law attorney in Pasadena.

Meet Your Candidates

Once you have completed this process you will be able to make an educated decision as to whom you would like to represent you in your family law case.
